The Whitebox gallery in Kuala Lumpur is playing host to the Two Mountains Photo Project exhibition, concurrently with the Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards 2014 portraiture displays. The exhibition is showing the photo-series of 6 photographers, (3 from Japan and 3 from Malaysia) specially selected to photograph images from Mount Fuji and Kinabalu respectively.
A presentation talk will be held at the gallery on Sunday 17 August, with the attendance of the Japanese curator Naoko Ohta, KLPA events director Steven Lee, Yousuke Fujiki curator for Tokyo-Ga and all photographers involved in this joint cultural project. We hope the images can inspire, challenge and question the minds of the viewers, and will open and develop new communication channels between the two Asian cultures for a long term of discourse.
These series of photographs will also be heading to the Mount Rokko International Festival as a video projection, from 29 August to 7 September, in Kobe, Japan.
We thank all participating photographers for their support and completion of their works.
